Mask Types

Question How does the Breathe Easy cloth mask differ from other cloth masks?
Answerur cloth mask is breathable and stretchable, made from polyester fabric that is 100% recyclable. Each mask is treated with an anti-viral/anti-bacterial solution that kills up to 99% of viruses and bacteria on contact. It can be worn repeatedly and washed up to 4 times before replacement is recommended. Most of all, it’s so comfortable you might forget you’re wearing it.
Question How often should masks be replaced?
AnswerOur cloth masks can be worn repeatedly and washed up to 4 times after which the anti-viral/anti-bacterial coating begins to lose its effectiveness. Surgical and respirator masks are intended for one-time use only and should be properly discarded after use.
Question How important is comfort for ensuring safety?
AnswerThe more comfortable a mask, the more likely people are to wear it. We tested fabrics, weaves and designs repeatedly until we found the right combination to ensure that our Breathe Easy cloth masks are the most comfortable mask you’ve ever worn. Our masks are so comfortable, you might forget you’re wearing it. We have.

Wearing A Mask

Question Why should I wear a mask?
Answer

Masks protect others from bacteria and viruses that escape into the air when you sneeze, cough, talk and even breathe. Many viruses, including the novel coronavirus that causes CoViD-19, are contagious before the carrier begins to show symptoms. A face mask can slow or prevent transmission of these microorganisms through the air.

Question When should I wear a mask?
Answer

You should wear a mask whenever you are in close contact with others outside your home: shopping, chatting with neighbors on the sidewalk, running errands, riding public transportation, or participating in any group activities.

If you have symptoms or believe you may have been exposed to CoViD-19, you should also wear a mask at home to prevent other members of your family from becoming sick.

Question Should children wear masks too?
AnswerYes. Since a significant percentage of people with CoViD-19 never show symptoms or have only mild symptoms, the virus is spread easily by people who never know they have it.  So far, most strains of the virus appear to affect children much less severely than older adults, making it easier for children to unknowingly spread the virus to other kids and to their parents and grandparents.
Question Who should not wear a mask?
Answer

The CDC recommends that cloth face coverings should not be placed on children younger than age 2, on anyone who has breathing issues, or on anyone who is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the cover without assistance.

Question What kind of mask is best?
AnswerThere are 3 types of face masks that provide protection from transmission of viruses and bacteria: cloth face masks, surgical face masks and respirator face masks. While surgical masks and N95 respirators are in short supply, the CDC recommends that they be reserved for healthcare workers and medical first responders, and that others wear cloth face masks.
Question Should I maintain social distance even if I'm wearing a masK?
AnswerYes. Wearing a mask is an additional step you should take to help reduce the spread of CoViD-19. The CDC, doctors and public health advisors still recommend that you stay at least 6 feet away from other people (except members of your household).
